‘Better that Neil Armstrong’ to vie at US fest

Iran’s ‘Better than Neil Armstrong’ is to be screened at the Asian Film Festival in the US.

Acclaimed Iranian short flick ‘Better than Neil Armstrong’ has been set to go on screen at the Asian Film Festival (AFF) Los Angeles Hollywood in the US.

Written and directed by the award-winning Iranian director Alireza Qasemi, the 20-minute flick is among the competition titles of the US event’s second edition.

‘Better than Neil Armstrong’ tells the story of four kids who are planning to travel to the moon on their own spaceship.

Their mission gets more challenging when they find out that the specific path to the moon is guarded by a vicious snake.

The short film has already gone on screen at a number of global events, including the Lakeshorts International Short Film Festival in Canada, the Izmir International Short Film Festival in Turkey, and the Poppy Jasper International Film Festival in the US.

The Best Cinematography and the Best Movie Soundtrack awards from the 15th Nahal Student Short Film Festival in Iran as well as the Best Live Action Director’s award from the Pune International Film Festival in India are some of the awards presented to the short flick.

Noushika Khodashenas, Kian Alipanah, Ilia Hassani, Asal Shakeri, and Golnoush Qahramani are the cast members of the film.

According to the official website of the event, the AFF “Los Angeles Hollywood is a non-profit organization of the film industry in the United States, headquartered in Los Angeles, through various projects and activities, screening filmmakers around the world, filmmakers of outstanding works, help them to increase exposure, in the industry…”.

This year’s edition of the fest is slated for November 1-14.
